Santa Claus may be off-duty, but PG&E’s SmartMeters are coming to town. Despite City Attorney Dennis Herrera’s petition to halt the installation of the controversial tracking system in San Francisco, the California Public Utilities Commission determined that the meters that monitor household gas and electric consumption are smart enough.
