Matt Smith has a novel idea…everyone should stop being a jackass.
The unique voice that is Mr. Smith over at the Weekly weighs in again with a very Thomas Paine-y proposal - no, not a column in favor of the French Revolution, but rather a column riddled through and through with Common Sense. His suggestion? People who pilot bicycles, and those who drive cars, should OBEY THE LAW and STOP SCREWING WITH OTHERS. Cops should fine or arrest people who continue to disobey the law and screw with others, no matter their wheels. And, because we are good at predicting the future, please watch this space in coming days to read about bicyclists and motorists pillorying Smith for his idiocy, and saying that it’s not THEM that’s causing the problem - it’s the OTHER guys. (We’re kinda predictable that way, here in San Francisco.) Mr. Smith? Thank you for this calm, thoughtful column. Bravo.
