The June ballot measure that would have allowed Mayor Ed Lee to return to his former job as City Administrator has been withdrawn by six members of the Board.  Will the rule change happen through the legislative process? Or not at all?  Only time will tell…

If Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi has his way, the stretch of Fillmore from Bush to McAllister will become San Francisco’s newest business corridor. Plans are underway to replace the area’s dreary offices with vibrant storefronts to attract more life to the neighborhood. Hey, as a wise man once said, “If you build it, they will come.”

Trash Talk

Debris dumping in the Bayview is proving costly (and smelly) to not only neighborhood residents but also to city taxpayers in clean up bills.  As much as they may adore WALL-E, in response, City Attorney Dennis Herrera filed a lawsuit against businesses allegedly using city streets as their personal garbage can, and Supervisor Malia Cohen introduces legislation to refine DPW’s definition of “illegal dumping.”

Supervisor Scott Wiener will introduce a resolution at tomorrow’s Board of Supes meeting to increase taxis during peak times.  Pretty soon, taxis will be hailing you rather then the other way around.
