BAAQMD has several incentive policies for local agencies to use environmentally-friendly vehicles. Some folks say it’s too much, others say it’s not enough, and the agency remains stuck smack dab in the middle. Always an awkward place to be, dontchathink?

We hope they are also filled with ice cream, hamburgers, apple pie, fireworks, and some good ol’ fashioned Americana - which, in my household, means cheap domestic beer. That was the only ‘Til Tuesday’ reference I could come up with fellow children of the 80’s. But I thought it was particularly apropos given the large number of great political stories in today’s Chronicle that will not be available online until Tuesday. In this editorial, John Diaz goes after San Francisco’s mayoral candidates for their lack of details on their websites. Of course, the piece would pack a lot more punch if online readers could find the whole story today on the Chron website. Ah, but we’ll have to wait. Hush, Hush….

The development of new technology that will allow e-signatures to be used to get voter propositions on the ballot is getting mixed reviews.  However, if you want to read the whole story, you might have to actually turn off your computer and buy the newspaper at the store as this story is embargoed until Tuesday.

With this weather, an extra day off, and the lack of even one relevant SF political news story today, I’m pretty sure that the universe is screaming “Get out of your pjs and DO something!” And I’ll second that.

The Examiner takes a look at the recent realignment mandate from Sacramento that will bring hundreds of prisoners our way. Turns out, that little crime lab scandal and the SFPD’s focus on more serious crimes has made way for a lot of empty beds so at least we aren’t scrambling for more space.

Today, we get some more details on a recent fundraiser for State Senator Leland Yee’s mayoral campaign at the Colma casino. One of the accusations is that the Yee campaign got a price cut for the surf and turf dinners whipped up by the casino and served to campaign diners. And you know that casino food, it’s all Michelin rated.
